Two of our dedicated cemetery workers are retiring, and we are now looking for their replacements to start in the first half of 2026.

About the position

Sankt Staffan's parish has five churches, each with its own cemetery: Brågarp, Nevishög, Kyrkheddinge, Esarp, and Bjällerup. Next to Nevishög Church, there are staff facilities for cemetery personnel, including a workshop and storage, where you will start and end your workdays. Your task will be to maintain and care for graves and green areas, other land surfaces, and facilities at the cemeteries, to dig graves, and to perform certain minor construction work on both graves and other cemetery areas. Your duties will also include being on call (for snow and ice) during the winter months.

We are looking for someone who:

• is responsible, solution-oriented, and able to work both independently and as part of a team. The work can be physically demanding, so good physical condition is necessary.
• has the ability to meet people in mourning.
• is a good listener and has a positive attitude towards people in your surroundings.

Qualifications:

• Education in gardening and green space maintenance.
• Previous experience in cemetery maintenance is an advantage!
• Good knowledge of Swedish.
• Preferably good experience with green space machinery.
• Driving license B.

We place great importance on personal suitability and that you share the fundamental values of the Church of Sweden. Since the parish also runs a preschool, we will require a background check.
