As a Project Manager in Rock Engineering, Shape the Future of Mining
At LKAB, you will lead important development projects and contribute to safe, sustainable, and innovative underground facilities.
The Most Important Job of the Future
We aim to lead the transition of our industry towards a sustainable future. Just as we want to change the world, we want to develop everyone who is with us on this journey, both personally and professionally. Do you want to help shape the future of the global mining and minerals industry?
Your Role
LKAB is facing an exciting development with the establishment of a new main level and associated hoisting system in the Malmberget mine in Gällivare, a crucial investment for the future of mining.
We are now looking for a project manager to lead and direct rock engineering and contribute to creating safe and sustainable underground facilities.
Examples of Responsibilities:
- Be responsible for planning and executing rock engineering, from feasibility study to completion, with the goal of creating optimal solutions for mining
- Build and lead cross-functional teams in close collaboration with colleagues in the organization and external consultants
- Ensure that the project meets goals for time, cost, function, and safety
- Be a central point of contact for suppliers and consultants and participate in procurement and contract negotiations
- Monitor compliance with laws, regulations, and authority requirements, including occupational health and safety standards
You will be part of an experienced team where collaboration, learning, and knowledge sharing are a natural part of everyday life. The work is characterized by safety, sustainability, and innovation.
What You Bring
We are looking for someone who is solution-oriented, structured, and has strong collaboration skills. You have experience in project management and a fundamental understanding of rock engineering, which enables you to contribute both technical insight and project control.
You have a good ability to make well-balanced decisions that consider time, function, and economy, and you can successfully coordinate multiple stakeholders to achieve common solutions.
With the industry's development towards more autonomous processes and digitalization, we also value that you are curious, adaptable, and motivated to learn new technologies and working methods.
We would like you to have:
- A university degree in a relevant field, or other experience deemed equivalent
- Training and experience in construction work environment coordination (BAS-P and BAS-U)
- A valid driver's license (required for all positions at LKAB)
- Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written
Preferred:
- Experience with DESWIK, as all rock engineering at LKAB is conducted using this software
