Are you interested in technology and vehicles? At SJ, you have the opportunity to start your employment with technical training in trains.

Your upcoming role

As an Interior Technician, you will be responsible for performing both service and repair of trains. You will begin your employment with a paid basic training in technology, followed by continued training in specific train types and electrical engineering. Among other things, you will be able to install defibrillator equipment on the trains and ensure that all seats are correctly mounted before passengers board. The depot is mostly outdoors, with trains arriving and departing from the depot around the clock. This means that the work is done in three shifts, providing you with a varied and active workday or night outdoors.

Your tasks:

  • Identify available trains, coordinate and plan work with colleagues.

  • Handle damage and maintenance of lighter train technology, including seats, lighting, doors, and other equipment.

  • Report work orders in the vehicle management system via computer.

  • Install the correct spare parts according to instructions and regulations.

  • Manage spare parts in stock and place orders as needed.

As an interior technician, you will be part of the vehicle division at SJ, which is responsible for the life cycle of the vehicle fleet. SJ is a forward-looking company that is in an exciting phase with a historic investment in a new vehicle fleet and digitization with many new technical solutions, meaning you will have the opportunity to grow and develop your technical skills.

Expectations for the candidate we are looking for

We are looking for a responsible person with a strong interest in technology. As a technician, good collaboration with colleagues is key; you will plan your work both in groups and individually. You are a meticulous problem solver who is motivated by working towards set goals, especially with a focus on traffic safety. To thrive in the role, you appreciate taking your own initiatives and the challenge of finding solutions that meet high quality and safety standards.

  • Experience in vehicle technical maintenance

  • Fluent Swedish in speech and writing

  • Experience in electrical engineering and circuit diagrams is a plus

  • Computer proficiency
