Meal Service is our youngest operation within Nyköping Municipality but at the same time one of our most important investments. Meal Service is responsible for meal operations within schools, preschools, and elderly care. Our vision is to create Sweden's best Meal Service for our guests, and we achieve this through good service and delicious, sustainable, and healthy meals!

Meal Service manages about 70 kitchens and delivers around 10,000 portions daily with the help of our 170 employees, including chefs and meal assistants. One of our larger kitchens is located at Mariebergsgården, where we prepare breakfast, lunch, and dinner for the residents. It is also here that we produce meal boxes that are distributed via home care services.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

At Meal Service, you will have the opportunity to be part of the journey towards Sweden's best public meal service!

Here you will prepare meals for the world's most important guests, namely children, youth, and the elderly. You contribute to serving delicious, sustainable, and healthy meals every day, following the dietary policy and Meal Service guidelines. You work based on good kitchen economy, where high quality and the guest are in focus.

At Meal Service, you work during the day and have the opportunity for professional development through internal training in food hygiene, special diets and allergies, environmentally friendly food, and much more. Your tasks include cooking, serving meals, daily reporting, operating kitchen machines, dishwashing, cleaning, and preparing salads. You will be responsible for planning, purchasing, and working to reduce food waste at all levels while following existing routines. You will work independently but be part of a team.

QUALIFICATIONS

Who are you?

You are a person with a positive attitude, who puts quality and the guest at the center. You have a good ability to work independently but also have no problem collaborating closely with a team. To thrive in this position, you need to handle a high work pace, be solution-oriented, and have a positive attitude towards development and change.

As an applicant, you have:

• Culinary education or experience deemed equivalent by the employer
• Good knowledge of Swedish in terms of speaking, writing, and reading comprehension (as there are special diets and texture-adapted diets, recipes, etc.)
• Good computer skills

We view positively that you have:

• Experience working in a restaurant or large kitchen
• Experience with meals in public operations
• A driver's license and access to a car

We will place great emphasis on personal suitability in this recruitment.

To work in our operations, a criminal record extract from the police is required.
