YOUR ROLE

As a summer employee at VA, you will work either as an operations technician or as a summer technician for the pipeline network. As an operations technician, you will help manage the daily operations of water treatment plants, sewage treatment plants, pump stations, or the biogas facility at Tuvan. Through supervision and maintenance, you contribute to safe and stable operations. You will work closely with experienced colleagues but will also take responsibility for your own tasks.

Operations Technician for External Sewage:

The work involves ensuring operation and maintenance of sewage treatment plants and sewage pump stations through supervision and care. An important part of the assignment is to monitor operational data and emission values and to work with mechanical tasks such as renovation and replacement of technical equipment. You will work according to clear instructions and routines to ensure quality and safe operations. The work is done in collaboration with others, but you are expected to be able to work independently. The position may involve some driving depending on the area.

Operations Technician for Treatment Plants:

As an operations technician at Tuvan, you are responsible for daily rounds and sampling at the treatment plant. Minor service work may also occur during the employment period. You are also expected to assist where and when needed at the biogas facility.

Operations Technician for Drinking Water:

The majority of your workday consists of practical work in our facilities, such as sampling, operations, care, maintenance, as well as controls and readings. Some administration is also included in the work. You often work independently and drive within the entire Skellefteå Municipality, but collaborate with other operations personnel as needed. The workday starts and ends at Guldstadens water treatment plant.

Summer Technician for Pipeline Network:

As a summer technician for the pipeline network, you will work a lot outdoors. You will inventory wells and downspouts by filming the inside with a 3D camera, assessing their condition, and documenting the results. The work also involves driving and working near roads.

YOUR COMPETENCE AND EXPERIENCE

We are looking for someone with a technical high school education, for example in operations technology, process industry, energy, or VA – or another education that we consider equivalent. If you have experience from VA, plumbing, process industry, or similar technical work, it is an advantage, but not a requirement. The role requires technical familiarity and that you are comfortable with both practical work and digital data handling.

You need to have good knowledge of Swedish to communicate, document, and understand instructions in the work. For the position, you must be at least 18 years old and have a B driver's license. As a person, you are curious, responsible, and meticulous, and you enjoy both independent work and collaboration with others.
