The Social Administration in Kumla Municipality operates in the fields of elderly care, disability services, healthcare, and individual and family care. Organizationally, you will be part of the assistive devices/alarm unit where you will have two colleagues, one working as an assistive technology technician and one as an assistive devices and alarm technician. The assignment covers the entire geographical area of the municipality and involves many contacts, both with users and colleagues. You will work closely with both occupational therapists and home care staff. The assignment is varied, challenging, and flexible, where you meet users in their own homes, encountering people at different stages of life, with different needs and of all ages.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As an assistive devices and alarm technician, you are a key person in the work of installing, operating, and administering welfare technology solutions that make a difference in people's everyday lives. You will work with:

  • Assembling, servicing, adjusting, cleaning, and repairing various assistive devices both in home environments and on-site in the workshop.
  • Transporting and ensuring that assistive devices are in place.
  • Inspecting assistive devices after training.
  • Explaining technical aspects in a pedagogical manner to both your colleagues and those using the assistive devices.
  • Following routines and guidelines and documenting performed actions.
  • Being responsible for informing about, installing, and following up on various safety alarms in users' homes. We use different types of alarms such as door alarms and web supervision equipment.
  • Ensuring that broken alarms are repaired, informing home care staff and others when changes occur and new information about alarms/alarm accessories is available, as well as contacting alarm companies or security centers in case of problems or inquiries.
  • Registering and installing Phoniro digital locks in users' homes.
  • Managing keys and registration in our PAAM system.

QUALIFICATIONS

In the role of assistive devices and alarm technician, you collaborate with several professional groups and have contact with users, healthcare staff, business developers, and suppliers. Therefore, it is important that you have good collaborative skills, are communicative, and enjoy creating solutions together with others. As a person, you are service-oriented, calm, attentive, and accommodating in your interactions. You also need to be responsible, proactive, and able to work independently. You have a good ability to prioritize and structure your work.

We are looking for someone who has:

  • A technical high school education or other training/experience that the employer deems equivalent.
  • A technical interest and can work in a careful and methodical manner.
  • A B driver's license; experience driving light trucks is an advantage.
  • Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.
  • Computer skills as several tasks are handled in various digital systems.
  • A pedagogical approach as it involves explaining and instructing both users and staff on how to handle both assistive devices and alarms.

Experience working as an assistive technology/alarm technician is an advantage.
