Guides Wanted for Naturum Vindelfjällen

Considering majestic mountains, botany, and visitors.

We are looking for guides for Naturum Vindelfjällen in Ammarnäs and Hemavan this summer.

Naturum Vindelfjällen aims to spread knowledge about the Vindelfjällen nature reserve, its natural and cultural values, and thereby create an understanding of the importance of preserving the area. Here, visitors gain knowledge and engagement for the valuable nature, as well as tips on attractions and hiking suggestions.

Job Responsibilities

You will work with information and guiding visitors within the naturum's activities. Both naturums have exhibitions that were inaugurated in 2023. Three people are needed in Hemavan and one in Ammarnäs during parts of the summer of 2026. In Hemavan, tasks include guiding visitors in the Mountain Botanical Garden, participating in the garden's maintenance, leading guided mountain and children's tours, and welcoming visitors to the naturum. In Ammarnäs, tasks include outdoor activities for children and guided tours in the reserve. In both naturums, a significant part of the work involves social media, taking photos/videos, and creating posters. For a large part of the time, you will work alone with visitors and groups. You will also handle cash management and sales.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who:

• Has mountain experience
• Has broad ecological competence with a focus on flora, fauna, and nature conservation - botanical knowledge is particularly important for the positions in Hemavan
• Has the physical ability for easier hiking in mountain terrain
• Has good knowledge of spoken and written Swedish to perform the tasks
• Has a B driver's license.

We consider it an advantage if you also have:

• Experience in nature guiding or as a tour leader
• Knowledge of Sami culture and reindeer husbandry
• Good knowledge of English and German.
• Previous experience in Vindelfjällen Hemavan and/or Ammarnäs

We place great emphasis on social skills, both with children and adults.

The positions are seasonal and are distributed as follows:

Hemavan, three positions during the periods:

• 2026-06-15 — 2026-09-19
• 2026-06-15 — 2026-08-16
• 2026-06-15 — 2026-08-09

Ammarnäs, one position during the period:

• 2026-06-15 — 2026-08-16
