At the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Sunderby Hospital, dedicated and skilled staff work in close teamwork where the patient is always at the center. Together, we provide highly specialized and life-saving care in an environment characterized by quality, respect, and good communication.
We are looking for
We are now seeking you who are a nursing assistant and have completed the Acute Care course of 200 credits or the Health and Medical Care courses 1 and 2 according to the new curriculum or other education/experience that the employer deems equivalent. You should have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, the ability to work person-centered with the patient's needs in focus, as well as previous experience of working in inpatient care and experience in handling acute and stressful situations. We consider it an advantage if you have further education or have started training towards specialist nursing assistant in An/Op/ICU. It is also beneficial if you have experience from intensive care, acute care, or other highly specialized healthcare environments, as well as experience in teamwork in round-the-clock operations.

This is what you will work with
As a nursing assistant in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Sunderby Hospital, you are an important part of the team around the seriously ill patient. You work closely with intensive care nurses and doctors in the care of newly operated patients, trauma patients, and patients with failing vital functions.
Your tasks include participating in the care of intensive care patients, monitoring the patient's condition, performing checks and observations, and assisting in examinations and treatments. You are responsible for care-related tasks, contribute to a safe and secure healthcare environment, and are involved in maintaining good hygiene and patient safety.
Your role also includes working person-centered with a focus on the needs of the patient and their relatives, participating in teamwork around the patient, and contributing to the development of the operations through active engagement in improvement and quality work. The work is varied, educational, and requires both responsibility and good collaboration skills.

Information about the position
We now offer a permanent full-time position where working hours are scheduled for days, evenings, nights, and weekend shifts. Start date according to agreement, but during the spring of 2026. Selection and interviews are ongoing, and the position may be filled before the application deadline.
This operation is covered by: Double compensation for work during inconvenient hours. An initiative by Region Norrbotten for employees in round-the-clock operations, something that makes us unique among regions in Sweden
