Meals, Kitchen Area 3

The meals within Region Gotland play an important role in schools, elder care, and health care.

By planning, preparing, and delivering food, the meals department contributes to good living conditions, health-promoting care, and a safe, equal, and inspiring learning environment. The meals create value for the region's citizens every day.

Daily, the department plans, prepares, delivers, and serves approximately 11,000 portions of food to children and students in preschools and schools, to users in elder care, and to patients in health care.

Kitchen Area 3 is part of the meals department and consists of seven school kitchens in and around Visby. We are currently looking for a new employee for the kitchen at Väskindeskolan.

Väskindeskolan is located in Väskinde, about ten kilometers north of Visby. In the kitchen, three dedicated and experienced employees work, preparing daily meals for approximately 400 children, students, and educators in preschool and primary school.

Would you like to be part of a dedicated team that works together to provide our guests with a really good dining experience? Then this might be the position for you.

Your Responsibilities

As a kitchen assistant, you will work on planning, preparing, and serving meals according to given guidelines. The work is carried out efficiently and economically with a focus on good quality. The goal is to provide our guests with safe, nutritious, varied, and sustainable meals with good taste, pleasant presentation, and good service in a pleasant environment.

Your tasks include planning, preparing raw food, dishwashing, serving, and post-work in the kitchen. You will have daily contact with internal and external actors, where a service-oriented approach is important. The work is always carried out according to established routines, guidelines, and applicable regulations, such as self-control and hygiene routines. You will participate in job rotation within the kitchen and sometimes also in other kitchens within the kitchen area and the meals department. You actively contribute to improvements in service and quality and support the unit manager in follow-up. If necessary, you may also participate in various projects and development work.

We strive to create conditions for stimulating work and an operation that can handle changes well, so other tasks may be added based on your skills and the kitchen's needs.

Who are you?

We are looking for someone with documented education in restaurant and meal service, such as a three-year upper secondary education with a focus on restaurant, a KY education, or other training combined with relevant experience that we assess as equivalent. A B driver's license is a requirement for the position. You preferably have several years of experience working in large kitchens, and knowledge of special diets is an advantage.

As a person, you are flexible and enjoy working in a changing everyday life where collaboration is a natural part of the job. You are service-oriented and have a good attitude towards both students/children, educators, and colleagues. You work responsibly and follow routines and guidelines in a responsible manner, while also being creative and contributing ideas to develop meals, service, and work methods.
