Environmental Officer at the Air Defense Regiment in Halmstad

The Air Defense Regiment in Halmstad is currently in an exciting and expansive growth phase where environmental and health protection is an important part of the development. Therefore, we are looking for a dedicated Environmental Officer at the Garrison Department of the Air Defense Regiment who, together with us, sees safety and the environment as obvious future issues.

About the Unit

The Garrison Department is tasked with supporting the entire Halmstad garrison regarding several different areas of specialist competence, among which environmental issues are an important area.

Main Responsibilities

In the role of Environmental Officer, you will support the operations with specialist competencies in the environmental and health protection area related to, among other things, activities requiring permits and notifications. The work involves processing cases within the Environmental Code and environmental and health protection issues. This means, for example, that you will participate in exercise planning, drive notification and permit cases according to the Environmental Code, collaborate with supervisory authorities and other agencies on various issues, provide support for the operations in matters concerning chemical products, and be responsible for investigations and presentations for the unit commander. You will also educate and provide advice within your area of work. As an Environmental Officer, you will work with the unit's self-monitoring, environmental assessments, risk analyses, monitoring of operations, and conduct environmental training.

Requirements

• Academic degree with an environmental focus, natural sciences, environmental law, or equivalent higher education
• Documented and practical experience in compliance and self-monitoring according to the Environmental Code.
• Good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in both Swedish and English.
• Driving license B.

Meritorious

• Work experience in qualified environmental work, preferably in the field of environmental protection
• Experience in government work/public administration within municipal or state administration.
• Experience in working with environmentally hazardous activities requiring permits and environmental management systems.
• Experience from the Armed Forces or other authorities within the defense sector

Other

The position is a permanent civilian employment. The employment begins with a probationary period of 6 months. Start date by agreement. The place of employment is Halmstad. Travel is included in the position. Since the employment involves military placement in the position within the war organization, participation in combat training, including training in basic soldier skills, is required. Physical training is a natural part of the job, and good opportunities for physical training are offered. The lowest placement for this position is 38,550 SEK.
