We are expanding our organization in Garpenberg and are now looking for two additions to our experienced and dedicated team in the Area Scrapping and Rest Mining department (OMR). Are you an experienced miner with a background in machine scrapping, a strong safety mindset, and a good ability to make critical decisions? Then we want to know more about you!

Your Role

As an area scrapper, you will work with a variety of important tasks to secure the rock and prevent collapses. By inspecting rock conditions and carrying out reinforcements, you play a key role in ensuring a safe and secure working environment in the mine. To succeed and thrive in this role, you need to be a responsible and decisive person with good knowledge of the scrapping and bolting processes.

Your Team

You will be part of an engaged team of 6 experienced miners, where work is performed independently or in pairs. The working hours are currently continuous 1-shift 7/7 days, with a planned transition soon to continuous 2-shift, 7/7 day-night. The position is a permanent employment. A probationary period may apply.

Your Tasks

• Hand scrapping and machine scrapping
• Manual and mechanical bolting
• Manual and mechanical netting
• Drilling with knee feeders
• Inspection of rock conditions and implementation of reinforcements
• Securing and reinforcing shafts

Your Contribution

We are looking for someone who takes great responsibility for safety and quality in their work. You are proactive and skilled at working independently as well as in a team. You are also responsible and have a good ability to make clear and well-founded decisions in critical situations.

We are looking for you who have:

• Experience in underground mining or rock work as well as machine scrapping.
• B driver's license
• High school education
• Good communication skills in Swedish and English

Meritorious is:

• Previous experience in hand scrapping, bolting, or drilling with knee feeders.
