IT Support Technician at the Swedish Agency for Marine and Water Management

The Department of Digitalization consists of around 80 people, including employees and consultants. Our mission is to lead the agency's digitalization, design solutions, and deliver IT services. We support the organization in utilizing the opportunities of digitalization and the use of modern technology.

The Operations and Infrastructure Unit is responsible for the operation, maintenance, development, and support of the agency's operational platforms and technical infrastructure. The unit consists of 9 employees and several consultants.

Job Responsibilities

Are you the one who often gets asked, “Can you help me with my computer?” Then you might be the one we are looking for.

We are seeking a solution-oriented and service-minded IT Support Technician who wants to contribute to a stable and user-friendly IT environment. You will belong to the support team, which currently consists of two people.

In this role, you will work with varied and developing tasks within first-line support on-site at the agency's premises. You will be responsible for internal user support related to computers, mobile phones (iOS), printers, and conference systems.

Your main responsibilities include:

  • providing support to internal users via the ticketing system, phone, in-person visits, and remote access
  • installing, configuring, and updating PC clients as well as working with user and system administration
  • administering and distributing client hardware, peripherals, mobile phones, and subscriptions
  • managing the lifecycle of the agency's IT equipment
  • administering user accounts and permissions
  • troubleshooting computers, networks, printers, mobile devices, and conference equipment

The role also involves continuous work to update documentation and user manuals.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a documented higher education in the IT field, such as a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering or another equivalent post-secondary education. You have at least five years of documented experience working in a technical support function, preferably within first-line or second-line support.

You also need to have:

  • excellent knowledge of computers, peripherals, mobile devices (Apple), and conference equipment
  • excellent knowledge of Windows 11 and MS Office
  • good knowledge of MDM systems, preferably Ivanti
  • good knowledge of networks, communication, antivirus protection, and IT and information security
  • good knowledge of account management in Active Directory, client administration, and directory and file permission management (experience with Novell iManager is a plus)
  • good knowledge of mailbox administration in Exchange
  • experience with ticketing systems
  • knowledge of service management according to ITIL

You communicate fluently in both spoken and written Swedish and have good knowledge of English.

As a person, you are service-oriented, responsible, and flexible. You are solution-oriented, structured, and have a good sense of order. You work efficiently and follow instructions and routines while being able to work independently within your area of responsibility. You also enjoy collaborating in a team and have a broad interest in technology with a desire to develop in your support role.

Conditions

The salary range for the position is between 37,000 - 43,000 SEK/month and is based on skills in relation to relevant competencies for the position. The employment is permanent full-time, and a probationary period may apply. Start date as soon as possible by agreement. To provide the best possible service to internal users, work will be performed at our office in Gothenburg. Working hours are 08:00-16:30 on weekdays without weekends. The Swedish Agency for Marine and Water Management applies individual salary setting.
