Do you want to use your clinical experience to improve healthcare's access to the right products? We are now looking for a procurement officer for the Procurement Unit for Supply of Goods, responsible for procurements within laboratory materials. This position is an exciting opportunity for you as a biomedical analyst, nurse, or care assistant to try a new role where your experience makes a difference.
Our Operations
The supply of goods is a collaboration between the regions of Dalarna, Västmanland, Sörmland, Uppsala, and Örebro. Each year, we conduct procurements worth approximately 2 billion SEK, and our assortment includes 100,000 items. Region Uppsala is the host for the collaboration, and the employees of the Supply of Goods are part of the same department as the region's own procurement officers and purchasers. Within the supply of goods, procurement officers, purchasing controllers, environmental chemists, business developers, product, contract, quality, and procurement coordinators, e-commerce managers, informants, and management work together to provide healthcare and dental care with consumables of the right quality and price. Your Mission
As a procurement officer, you will plan, lead, and execute procurements from needs analysis to contract signing and contract management. The work encompasses the entire procurement process from the development of specifications, preparation of procurement documents, contract signing, and management of contracts. The procurement officer role also includes providing support in procurement issues and developing the purchasing and procurement operations together with your colleagues in the unit.
The work as a procurement officer is stimulating and varied with many contacts, and you will become a central person in the work. The work involves leading, directing, and collaborating with expert groups consisting of various professional roles. As a procurement officer, you will:
- Manage a portfolio of contracts with several agreements within the laboratory area. This includes, for example, conducting supplier follow-ups and assisting the operations with product and contract issues.
- Independently conduct procurements primarily within laboratory operations, such as laboratory materials, materials for patient-related analyses, and surgical and examination gloves.
- Work closely with the operations to understand and meet their needs.
- Lead expert groups consisting of different professions.
- Be an advisory and supportive expert in procurement issues.
Your Qualifications
- Healthcare education as a biomedical analyst, nurse, or care assistant, or other relevant healthcare education.
- Good knowledge of the Office suite.
- Very good ability to communicate verbally and in writing in Swedish, as well as good knowledge of English.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team.
Meritorious Qualifications
- Experience working with sampling or lab analysis.
- Experience in ordering, purchasing, procurement, or sales within healthcare-related consumables, products, and/or equipment.
- Experience working with improvement work, such as material selection or changed work methods that lead to cost savings.
- Driver's license, as travel is required in the position.

The role of a procurement officer requires business acumen and analytical ability. You take responsibility for your tasks, structure your approach, and drive your processes forward effectively. You can prioritize and manage several different types of assignments simultaneously, which includes planning, setting up, and adhering to timelines.
You have the ability to adapt to the situation and also your response based on the recipient in a responsive, clear, and smooth manner. As a person, you are confident, stable, and have self-awareness.
