The Interpreting Center for the Deaf, Deafblind, and Hard of Hearing is organized as one of three units within Audiology, Region Västernorrland, located in Härnösand.

Within the interpreting center, 11 people work; sign language interpreters, an administrator, and a unit manager.

It is a creative operation with many development ideas, which requires a strong sense of responsibility. The mission of the interpreting center is to enable individuals with deafness, deafblindness, and hearing loss to communicate according to our mandate described in the Health and Medical Services Act. We are a wonderful and cheerful team with great enthusiasm for our mission, supporting and pushing each other. We are now looking for a written interpreter to join our team! The position is a permanent full-time employment with a start date according to agreement.

As a written interpreter, you will work with:

• Written interpretation within and outside the region
• Assisting with administrative tasks to some extent
• Contributing to the development of remote written interpretation
• Occasionally coordinating and receiving orders

We are looking for someone who

• Is an educated written interpreter
• Has a high linguistic level and ability to adapt to different levels
• Has good knowledge of Swedish in both spoken and written form

It is an advantage if you

• Are an educated sign language and deafblind interpreter
• Can use sign language
