Your New Job

We are currently seeking two permanent positions for librarians – one focused on the adult target group located in Norrahammar and one children's librarian based in Gränna. In this role, you will be responsible for planning, developing, and implementing activities aimed at either children or adults. You enjoy meeting people and are keen to create inclusive and meaningful contexts for different groups. The work also includes regular library tasks such as serving at the information desk, purchasing books, media management, and shelving books.

Your Competence

We are looking for someone with a university degree in library and information science or another education that the employer deems equivalent. With several years of experience in library work, you have the ability to adapt to changing situations and needs and work equally well independently as in a team. You take initiative to develop working methods and find solutions when new needs arise. You have experience in engaging with people from diverse backgrounds and life situations and build trusting relationships. You are accommodating and attentive in your interactions and enjoy helping others. We expect you to have good digital skills.

You have good knowledge of Swedish and English in both spoken and written forms. It is an advantage if you speak additional languages.

The library organization of Jönköping Municipality consists of 12 libraries as well as a bookmobile and book bus.

Good to Know

The positions are permanent full-time employment, and the role includes evening and weekend work. Staffing at several libraries within the municipality's public libraries is included.

Criminal Record Check

To work with children and young people, we must have an approved extract from the police's criminal record. Order it directly (via post or Bank-ID) when you submit your application, as the normal processing time at the police is about two weeks.
