Workplace Description
The Education Administration within the City of Stockholm is responsible for municipal primary schools and after-school activities, adapted primary and secondary schools, as well as upper secondary schools.
Within the administration is the Department for Support in Learning and Student Health, whose task is to assist schools in promoting students' learning, development, and health. The Student Health Unit is part of this department.
At the Student Health Unit, representatives from various health professions work individually and in teams with the following assignments:
- Professional support for student health professionals
- Initiatives for the development of schools' student health work
- Management of psychologists' and speech therapists' health care interventions
- System support for student health records and documentation
- School psychologists for upper secondary schools
- An investigation team for psychological assessments prior to admission to adapted schools
Job Description
We are now looking for 5 PTP psychologists to work in Stockholm's primary schools. You will have a central employment at the Student Health Unit, where you will also have your supervisor. Your daily work will be carried out at one of the city's primary schools, as the school's own and only school psychologist, under your own professional responsibility. Your tasks as a PTP psychologist will include: psychological assessments regarding intellectual disabilities, support conversations with students, psychoeducation for students and guardians, assessment of mental health issues prior to referral to the region, collaboration with other student health staff in both individual-focused and overarching student health work. Qualifications
We are looking for someone with a strong interest in working with children and young people and their learning environment. Good collaboration skills and a respectful approach are required as you will work closely with other student health staff and educational personnel at the school, as well as have frequent contact with students and guardians. The work requires responsibility, independence, and initiative, as you will be the sole psychologist at the school.
Requirements:
- Degree from the Psychology Program
- High communicative competence in spoken and written Swedish
- Outgoing and service-oriented attitude
- Interest in student health
Meritorious:
- Previous experience working in schools
- Experience working with children and young people
