About the Job

The role of a nursing assistant with us involves caring for patients in a palliative stage as well as supportive conversations with care recipients and their relatives.

We work in a team of nurses and nursing assistants together with doctors and social workers.

The working hours for the position are scheduled for night shifts. The position is a parental leave substitute lasting from 2026-05-01 to 2027-08-31.

About the Workplace

The Palliative General Care Unit in Falkenberg has eight care places. Our mission is to provide general palliative care, individually tailored and with the highest quality. The care unit is available for residents of Halland in a palliative stage, regardless of diagnosis. We care for patients who are at the end of life, but also patients who need symptom relief and respite for a shorter period. We are a care unit in constant development and have expanded our staffing with a social worker in the workgroup in 2025. Our doctors on-site are employed by PKT (Palliative Consultation Team in Halland) and we also have access to occupational therapists and physiotherapists from Falkenberg VC. The care unit is located close to nature, along the Ätran river, and it is possible for our bedridden patients to be outdoors.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is a trained nursing assistant, with experience and interest in general palliative care. Specialist training in palliative care is not a requirement but is meritorious. You have basic computer skills. Experience with the Cosmic journal system is an advantage. Good knowledge of Swedish in both spoken and written form is required.

You are a stable person with empathetic abilities. You have the ability to work flexibly and enjoy working in a team as well as collaborating with other professional groups. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
