About the Workplace

The service organization for the Centrum area is responsible for local and property issues, inventory, school meals, cleaning, and caretaking at the area's schools.

The schools included in the area are Angeredsgymnasiet, The International High School, Hvitfeldtska and Schillerska Gymnasiet. We are now looking for a qualified cleaner for our service organization.

The main assignment is at Angeredsgymnasiet with approximately 850 students. We are a high school with both national and introductory programs as well as a national gymnasium for students with disabilities. Here, joy and enthusiasm are just as obvious elements as knowledge and development. We are convinced that students who thrive and are in a good and pleasant environment feel joy in their work and succeed better in their studies.

Job Description

We are now looking for a staff member in cleaning for Angeredsgymnasiet.

We within the service organization are an internal service and support function for the school, and we stand for a good reception and work to achieve good quality. Our work makes a difference, and we are looking for you who want to influence so that students and staff can have the best possible learning and working environment!

You coordinate the daily work at the workplace together with your colleagues to maintain clean and fresh premises. You work with a good attitude towards your colleagues in the cleaning unit to achieve the common goals set for the operations regarding cleaning, service, and quality. We have a collaboration with the service units at Schillerska and Hvitfeldtska gymnasiet and support each other as needed.

The daily tasks in cleaning consist of cleaning classrooms, toilets, corridors, other common areas, work and staff rooms, as well as cleaning for external parties. Floor care, waste management, and recycling are other tasks included. The position also includes responsibility for planning both the daily cleaning and planning of extra efforts such as deep cleaning, moving furniture during breaks, etc. Self-control is performed by the work team where you are an important piece. We have no cleaning leader; we work together and share responsibility for our assignment. We actively work to reduce our environmental impact. Other tasks within our service unit, such as hospitality and caretaking, may also become relevant. Heavy lifting is included.

During rentals of the school, this may involve shifted working hours as well as standby duties with evening and weekend work.

The work is performed during the day according to a schedule starting at 06:00-14:30

Qualifications

• Documented SRY, PRYL, CLV, or other training that the employer assesses as equivalent and professional experience in cleaning.
• You have experience working as a cleaner, preferably in preschools, schools, offices, or elderly care. Experience working with youth is an advantage.
• Experience handling different cleaning methods for various types of cleaning and knowledge and experience with different types of floor care. Handling different types of cleaning machines such as, for example, combination and polishing machines.
• Plan and carry out tasks in a structured way and enjoy working independently. Ability to take initiative, stress-resistant.
• A service-oriented attitude is a given.
• You have a very good ability to work with others, but you should also be able to work independently according to work schedules and instructions.
• Communication and good collaboration with colleagues, managers, and other staff at the school are important parts of the assignment. Therefore, you must master the Swedish language in speech and writing.
• Basic IT skills are required to manage email and smartphones to use personnel systems and communicate via email with the manager and colleagues.
• Heavy lifting occurs in the position, so good physical condition is a requirement.
