2nd Officer for Destination Gotland

As a 2nd Officer at Destination Gotland, you will be an important part of the deck department's team, contributing to safe, efficient, and secure operations on board. The role requires close collaboration with colleagues and places high demands on leadership, communication, and safety awareness.

You work in a structured manner and can make well-founded decisions even in situations that require speed and flexibility. With a professional and humble approach, you contribute to a good working environment and a well-functioning team.

The position starts with a probationary employment of 6 months and then transitions into a permanent employment.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualification as ship's officer class V (STCW Manila)
• Basic Safety (C10, STCW Manila)
• Advanced firefighting (C4, STCW Manila)
• Rescue boats and emergency boats (C5, STCW Manila)
• Certificate for personnel with special maritime security duties (C18, STCW Manila)
• Basic first aid (C13, STCW Manila)
• First aid officer on board (C1, STCW Manila)
• GOC
• Crowd Management
• Medical certificate for seafarers (Unlimited navigation)
• Seafarer's book.

Meritorious

• Fast Rescue Boat (C6, STCW Manila). You need to have good knowledge of Swedish and English.

At Destination Gotland, we are responsible for one of Sweden's most important routes – the sea route between Gotland and the mainland. Our fast ferries create opportunities for both passengers and freight traffic to travel efficiently between Gotland and the mainland, on the routes Visby – Nynäshamn or Visby – Oskarshamn.

We have operated the Gotland traffic since 1998 and are proud of the trust. Formally, the assignment is from the Transport Administration, but in many ways, the assignment is also from the Gotland community. We see it as our task to contribute to the development of Gotland by always leading the way and creating opportunities for everyone who wants to travel to and from our island.
