Seafarers for Destination Gotland

As a seafarer on board Destination Gotland's vessels, you will have a varied and responsible job in close collaboration with colleagues in the deck department. You contribute to safe and efficient operations through tasks such as loading and unloading on the car deck, mooring, maintenance work, safety rounds, and watchkeeping.

You are a representative of the entire company and will meet our passengers daily. Therefore, it is important that you are service-oriented, have a positive attitude, and that it is natural for you to always do your best to meet passengers' expectations.

Employment type

Qualifications and certificates

• Seafarer (STCW Manila)
• Basic safety (C10, STCW Manila)
• Rescue boats and emergency boats (C5, STCW Manila)
• Certificate for personnel with special maritime security duties (C18, STCW Manila)
• Medical certificate for seafarers (unlimited sailing)
• Seafarer's book
• Good knowledge of Swedish and English

Meritorious

• Basic first aid (C13, STCW Manila)

As part of our recruitment process, we conduct background checks and may also perform alcohol and drug tests.

At Destination Gotland, we are responsible for one of Sweden's most important routes – the sea route between Gotland and the mainland. Our fast vessels create opportunities for both passengers and freight traffic to travel efficiently between Gotland and the mainland, on the routes Visby – Nynäshamn or Visby – Oskarshamn.

We have operated the Gotland traffic since 1998 and are proud of the trust. Formally, the assignment is from the Transport Administration, but in many ways, the assignment is also from the Gotland community. We see it as our task to contribute to Gotland's development by always leading the way and creating opportunities for everyone who wants to travel to and from our island.
