The Environmental and Community Building Administration works to develop a sustainable and growing Karlskrona with new housing and business establishments, attractive environments, and well-functioning operations from an environmental and health perspective. The administration consists of approximately 60 employees.

At the Environmental Department, environmental inspectors, environmental administrators, administrators, municipal ecologists, unit managers, and environmental managers work together. Here, we work with environmental supervision, food control, nature conservation, sewage supervision, health protection supervision, etc. This is to create safe, sustainable, and healthy living environments in Karlskrona and provide the best possible service to our businesses and residents in the municipality. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We are now looking for a dedicated and knowledgeable environmental inspector with experience in working with contaminated areas who wants to make a difference in the field of environmental protection. As an environmental inspector, you will play a key role in ensuring a sustainable and safe environment for future generations.

In the role of environmental inspector, you will participate in the planning and implementation of inspections according to the Environmental Code, handling incoming environmental cases and complaints of various kinds. The work offers great variety with elements of both administrative work and practical tasks in the field.

The role of the environmental inspector also includes making decisions in administrative matters, responding to referrals, and performing other case management related to legislation. You will also prepare proposals for decisions and present them in the Environmental and Community Building Committee.

The role requires you to work with a service-oriented approach where qualities such as clarity, flexibility, and integrity are valued.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a relevant university degree in environmental science, geoscience, or similar. Experience working with contaminated areas and environmental inspections in the field of environmental protection is an advantage. You should be able to express yourself well in both speech and writing and have good knowledge of environmental legislation and regulations.
