We at Mora's emergency department are proud of our operations and the quality we actually deliver. For us, patient focus and work environment are the highest priorities. You will be part of an inspiring and ambitious team of nurses, nursing assistants, and doctors. We prioritize/sort patients with Triage according to RETTS, a quality-assured tool used in most emergency departments in Sweden.

For those of you who want to take the step into emergency care here in Mora, this is an opportunity to get your foot in the door. We apply flexible schedules based on individual needs. For example, longer shifts with more days off. The employment is a summer substitute during the period 260601-260831 with the possibility of extension.

Our mission at the emergency department is to provide specialized medical care for acutely seriously ill or injured citizens around the clock, every day of the week. Our next colleague should be a nursing assistant who enjoys being at the center of events; you should possess high flexibility, prioritize the best interests of the operations, and be able to make decisions independently based on your professional role.

As a nursing assistant, you will work alongside your nurse. For example, you will take ECGs, vital parameters, samples, and prepare the patient for medical assessment. You also have a central role in trauma management and assist doctors during examinations and treatments.

We constantly work on competence development in clinical work, including team training and medical technical devices.

Requirements:

• Trained nursing assistant who has completed the Health and Care program or the vocational package Health and Care in adult education and has a diploma from the Health and Care College
• alternatively completed term 4 of the nursing program or completed term 3 of the medical program

Meritorious:

• Experience of work in healthcare and social care
• Experience from work in emergency care

Personal qualities:

• You appreciate challenges and work with varied tasks and pace changes
• You are a self-driven person who takes responsibility for your tasks
• In your interaction with patients, you have an empathetic and service-oriented approach
• You have good collaboration skills and a positive attitude towards colleagues
• You are structured and can prioritize.
• You have a genuine interest in developing your competence in nursing and emergency care
• You have a humble attitude and an ethical approach to your surroundings

Information about the job title

As of July 1, 2023, nursing assistant is a protected job title (https://legitimation.socialstyrelsen.se/underskoterska-blir-en-skyddad-yrkestitel/). This means that you need a certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare to use the title nursing assistant in healthcare and social care.

You can apply for the certificate from July 1, 2023. If you do not have a certificate, you can continue to work in healthcare and social care, but with a different title than nursing assistant. For those who are offered a job with us in Region Dalarna after July 1, it means that the title in your employment contract will be Care Assistant until you can present your certificate. If you had a permanent position with the title nursing assistant when the new regulations came into effect on July 1, 2023, you can continue to use the nursing assistant title for 10 years. You can retain the title even if you change workplace/employer after July 1. After that, you need to have a certificate of protected job title to use the title nursing assistant.
