About the Organization
Within Investment, we lead many of the Swedish Transport Administration's projects related to reconstruction and new investments. We work with the whole process, from planning and construction to completed roads or railways - always focusing on smart solutions and efficient project management. With us, you will work alongside colleagues, suppliers, and various stakeholders, all with their knowledge and experience, for sustainable community development.
Your Managerial Assignment
We are currently looking for a project unit manager for the Southern region who thrives in an organization with great commitment and broad expertise in the construction and civil engineering field. You will lead a railway unit consisting of approximately 15 employees, project managers, and project engineers, as well as a large number of contracts with consultants and contractors.
As a project unit manager, you act as a representative for large parts of the unit's project portfolio and are responsible for ensuring that the projects are carried out efficiently, structured, and commercially. All based on given assignments, and by being a clear and competent client. By driving the projects with a focus on time, cost, and content, the region contributes to achieving the Swedish Transport Administration's goals regarding sustainability, improved capacity, safety, and punctuality.
Together with you, the region continues to deliver at a high level and the organization to develop. Active collaboration, both internally and with suppliers and other stakeholders, is the foundation for successful results. The work with competence supply and organizational development, of course as part of the collective work of Investment and the Swedish Transport Administration, is also of great importance.
About the Management Group
As a project unit manager, you report to the regional manager and are part of the management group for the Southern region. You will join a forward-looking and well-knit management group, characterized by a non-prestigious approach where we help and support each other. Our ambition is to jointly solve the challenges we face, and we would like you, as our next managerial colleague, to have an open mind for new solutions and share your thoughts and opinions, with the aim of becoming wiser together.

The employment within the Swedish Transport Administration is permanent, but the managerial appointment is time-limited, initially for 4 years.

This is something we see as an important success factor and is an approach we seek in you as a project unit manager. As a leader, you are an important representative of the Swedish Transport Administration, which places demands on high integrity and a strong ethical and moral stance, in order to create and maintain a high level of trust both internally and externally.
We are looking for someone who has:
- Current experience working in a leadership role with personnel responsibility in a larger organization, e.g., as a project manager, block manager, group manager/unit manager, or equivalent. Alternatively, you have worked as a responsible project manager for a larger project group with responsibility for schedule, budget, and content.
- Current experience working with large, multidisciplinary projects within construction and civil engineering.
- University or college degree of 180 credits (120 credits), with a focus on technology, economics, or social sciences, or other education together with experience that we assess as equivalent.
- Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.
- Driver's license for passenger car.
It is meritorious if you have:
- Worked with negotiation and contractual issues regarding construction law (AB/ABT/AMA) and/or consultancy law (ABK).
- Current experience working with extensive design, construction, and/or maintenance projects within roads.
- Current experience working with extensive design, construction, and/or maintenance projects within railways.
- Experience in being responsible for and handling common personnel and work environment issues.
