The assistive technology center is part of the psychiatry, rehab, and habilitation area. We provide assistive devices to people with disabilities and work with technical service, support during assessments, inventory management, refurbishment, and prescription within a limited area. With us, you will find assistive technology technicians, assistive technology consultants, assistive technology assistants, warehouse staff, and administrators – a team that collaborates to create solutions that work.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As an assistive technology technician, you will ensure that assistive devices function as they should. You will work with service and maintenance of both electrical and manual products, ranging from advanced to simple assistive devices. Your daily tasks will involve finding solutions, analyzing problems, and ensuring that each product meets high standards of safety and functionality. You will also contribute your technical expertise during assessments and sometimes train others on how to use the assistive devices. The work takes place both in our workshop and out in the field in Kronoberg County, providing you with an exciting mix of practical work and problem-solving in real environments.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Technical education at least at the high school level or other relevant background.
  • Interest in technical solutions and problem-solving.
  • Computer skills and a B driver's license.

Experience in the following is advantageous:

  • Repair and workshop work.
  • Troubleshooting, risk analysis, and technical assessment.
  • Working from technical manuals and exploded views.
