Development Engineer at Acetec – Work from Idea to Finished Product

About the Position

Acetec continues to grow and is now looking for a Development Engineer who wants to help create the next generation of ventilation and dehumidification solutions. Here you will have the opportunity to work throughout the development chain – from idea, research, and design work to prototypes, testing, and production adaptation.

In this role, you will be responsible for developing products and components within ventilation and dehumidification. You will work in SolidWorks/3D-CAD with sheet metal, mechanics, and production-related designs. You will perform calculations, verify airflows, sound levels, and power consumption, and ensure that the products are ready for manufacturing and meet market certification requirements.

You will work closely with production, where modern robots, bending machines, and punching machines provide great opportunities to quickly go from drawing to prototype. The role involves several parallel projects in different phases – perfect for you who thrive on switching between innovation, practical testing, and structured product development.

Examples of Responsibilities:

• Develop products and solutions within ventilation and dehumidification
• Design in 3D-CAD (SolidWorks) – primarily sheet metal, component placement, and production adaptation
• Produce prototypes, drawings, and testing documentation.
• Conduct measurements and verify technical data (e.g., airflow, sound, acoustics, energy)
• Work with CE requirements and industry standards
• Collaborate with production, purchasing, finance, and suppliers
• Conduct research and work with new technologies, e.g., flow simulations and thermal simulations

About You

We are looking for someone with a technical background in mechanical engineering, product development, or similar – and who is passionate about creating smart, well-thought-out products. You are comfortable with 3D-CAD and are used to thinking both creatively and analytically.

We believe you have:

• A degree in Mechanics/Technical Design or equivalent work experience
• Good knowledge of SolidWorks/3D-CAD
• Experience in product development or mechanical design
• An interest in working practically with prototypes, testing, and verification

Meritorious:

• Experience in sheet metal design, punching, and bending
• Electrical knowledge in control and power electronics (400V, sensors, motors, fans)
• Experience with PLC/control technology and basic programming
• Knowledge in acoustics, airflows, heat exchangers
