Our Operations
In the department, we examine, treat, operate, and care for patients with diseases, injuries, and pain in the musculoskeletal system. The operations are broad, including both emergency and planned surgery. The main focus is highly specialized care within five sections: hand, fracture, prosthesis, shoulder/foot, and spine surgery.
Our department is divided into inpatient care and a day surgery unit that has its own pre-/post-operative unit in close proximity to the operating rooms.
Your Mission
As a specialist nurse with us in orthopedic surgery – inpatient care, you will be part of a skilled team where we support and help each other in the operating room work.
Onboarding is tailored based on previous experiences. Together with the deputy department manager and the education responsible nurse, you will set up your competence development plan. Competence development occurs through further education, improvement work, working groups, and projects. To continue developing and being inspired in your profession, you have the opportunity to participate in courses and conferences.
Your Qualifications
We are looking for someone who is a licensed nurse with a specialist nursing degree focused on surgical care.
- Requirements: Master's degree in surgical care
- Meritorious: Supervisor training at the university level
- At least two years of experience as a surgical nurse

We Offer
We offer a permanent position full-time or part-time with a start date according to agreement. Working hours are scheduled for days, evenings, and weekends.
If you use public transport, there is an opportunity for a net deduction for an annual ticket on UL. We have our own wellness facility, Friskhuset, where all employees within Region Uppsala are welcome to train in the gym, participate in group training sessions, book massages, and personal trainers. A wide range of courses and lectures, physiotherapy, ergonomics, and transfer training are also offered there.
