Our Operations

The Department of Orthopedics and Hand Surgery at Uppsala University Hospital provides highly specialized care and is divided into seven sections: trauma, spine, prosthetics, shoulder/knee, foot, hand, and pediatrics. Within the department, we have two inpatient wards, two outpatient clinics, an operating planning unit, and a research and quality unit.

At the orthopedic outpatient clinic, we provide outpatient care for the trauma, spine, prosthetics, shoulder/knee, and foot sections. You will work in a team with nursing assistants, registered nurses, physiotherapists, doctors, and medical secretaries.

Your Mission

As a nurse in the orthopedic outpatient clinic, you will perform standard outpatient tasks such as nursing consultations, telephone advice, and 1177.

In nursing consultations, you will have your own patients and work independently. Your tasks will include wound care, venipuncture, antibiotic treatment, and planning for patients' continued care. In telephone advice and 1177, you will represent the clinic and handle patient matters. Examples of patient matters include advice and prescription renewals.

Your Qualifications

You are a licensed nurse with an interest in orthopedics. Experience in orthopedics or other surgical fields, or experience in outpatient care is an advantage.

We are looking for someone who enjoys taking responsibility and driving their own processes forward. You work in a structured manner, remain calm even in change, and always have the patient's best interests in focus.

You collaborate well with others and are responsive to both colleagues and the needs of the organization. You are solution-oriented and drive your work in a constructive and forward-looking manner. In our operations, it is important that you can adapt to changing circumstances and quickly re-prioritize as needed.

We Offer

We offer a permanent position. Working hours are scheduled Monday to Friday, during the day, and the position is for a full-time employment of 100%. A six-month probationary period may apply. Start date according to agreement.
