In the Härjedalen municipal group, 1,000 employees work. Here, we manage and develop some of society's most important missions: children's learning, good care, and sustainable community development. To succeed in our common mission, we need managers and leaders with great commitment and courage. Leadership is a crucial part of our success in our tasks and is based on the municipality's values:

  • I am here for those who live, work, or visit Härjedalen.
  • I have a professional approach and treat everyone with respect.
  • I see opportunities and want to improve our operations.

About the Role

As Social Manager, you have overall responsibility for budget, personnel, and work environment within the administration. The Social Administration has about 500 employees and 20 unit managers. You will coordinate the broad mission, lead the strategic work, and ensure that goal management is met in line with the municipality's overall goals and values. You have the overall responsibility for leading and developing the administration together with your managers and employees. The role also means that you will be part of the municipality's management team along with the municipal manager and other department heads.

Your main tasks:

  • Lead and develop the social administration with a focus on quality, efficiency, and sustainability.
  • Be responsible for strategic work and goal management in a politically governed organization.
  • Ensure a good work environment and engaged leadership throughout the organization.
  • Actively participate in the municipality's management team and contribute to a holistic perspective and collaboration.

We are looking for someone who has:

  • A relevant academic degree
  • Several years of leadership experience, preferably as a manager of managers
  • Knowledge in one of the social administration's areas of operation
  • Experience in management team work and internal and external collaboration
  • Experience with budget responsibility and understanding of the budget process
  • Good ability to express yourself in Swedish and English, both spoken and written
  • A valid driver's license (B)

Personal qualities

We are looking for a clear and structured leader with order and discipline. You have good communication skills and create engagement, motivation, and participation both directly and through others. You build and maintain good relationships and foster dialogue and a good collaborative climate. You have strategic thinking, are development-oriented, and have experience in driving successful change initiatives. You thrive in a role where collaboration is central and find it easy to build and maintain relationships.

We offer

In the role of Social Manager, we can offer you a stimulating job with great development opportunities, where you, together with employees in your own department and other colleagues, will work for the best of the group. We strive to build a team where diversity, creativity, and collaboration are important, and where we work together to create an attractive workplace where we enjoy our work.
