Our Operations

At gynecology ward 96C1, approximately 1600 patients from the entire Healthcare Region of Central Sweden receive care each year. We are very proud to have been certified as a European center for advanced ovarian cancer surgery and operate on about 80-100 women with ovarian cancer each year. We also provide national highly specialized care for certain endometriosis cases, focusing on advanced surgery. Through our emergency department, patients of all ages with various gynecological conditions come for investigation, surgery, and treatment. We have a close collaboration with other units within the department of women's health and also care for certain obstetric patients.

The combination of planned and acute operations means that no day is the same, and we constantly learn and develop together. Working in women's health places high demands on our medical competence but also on our ability to be attentive to the individuals we encounter, who, like us working here, all have different backgrounds and experiences. Supporting women in all stages of life, being there when life is at its most challenging, and providing the very best care to our patients is something we are passionate about in our area of expertise.
