Our Operations
The Psychiatry Department 3B provides specialist psychiatric inpatient care for patients with affective disorders such as severe depression, bipolar disorders, personality disorders, and severe anxiety disorders.
We belong to the section for affective diseases, which is a specialist psychiatric operation within the field of psychiatry and consists of both inpatient care and several outpatient clinics. We are located in modern premises where inpatient care, outpatient care, and emergency care for psychiatry are gathered under one roof.
To ensure care quality, we actively work to develop a good and attractive working environment for nurses. This means that we value and protect the nurse's autonomous professional practice, have high nursing competence at all management levels within the organization, and have ongoing research and development work within nursing. We welcome your interest in research and teaching in collaboration with Uppsala University. Nursing plays a central role in our operations, and we continuously work to develop the role of the specialist nurse. Enabling recovery and health are important parts of nursing work in a psychiatric ward. A clear focus on person-centered care allows individuals' own stories to shape the care.
Together, we establish a care plan with current and planned interventions, which are continuously evaluated. The department has a close and well-functioning collaboration with outpatient care, ensuring safe discharge with good follow-up and treatment even after discharge. In the department, we work in two care teams where a nurse together with two nursing assistants is responsible for half of the patients in the department. As the leading nurse, you will lead the daily nursing work.
At the end of each work shift, we have reflection in the workgroup. We also have nursing rounds every week and regular supervision for the nursing group.
Your Mission
As a specialist nurse, you, together with other specialist nurses, are responsible for leading and developing psychiatric nursing, both patient-facing and at the unit level. You bring a nursing perspective to the interprofessional team and provide collegial supervision to new colleagues.
Your Qualifications
We are looking for colleagues who are specialist nurses with a focus on psychiatric care and have at least a master's degree in nursing and/or health sciences. Experience and knowledge of management at a comprehensive level, organization of supervision for students, and experience in quality and development work within psychiatric care are desirable and merit-based.
Your Competence
You are interested in developing in the role of a leader. You are firmly anchored in the profession's ethical code and do not hesitate to translate this into practical action in relation to both patients and colleagues. You are proud of your profession, have good analytical and reflective abilities, and contribute your nursing expertise to improve and develop care. You dare to question and criticize.
We Offer
We offer a permanent position at 100%. You will receive an individually tailored competence development plan and generous conditions for further education. We see professional networking and knowledge exchange as a natural part of your employment and encourage participation in national and international conferences.
With us, you will receive benefits that make a difference; read about the benefits here (https://regionuppsala.se/jobba-hos-oss/bli-var-nya-kollega/formaner/ (https://regionuppsala.se/jobba-hos-oss/bli-var-nya-kollega/formaner/)).

Region Uppsala places all permanent staff based on the needs of total defense. This means that for the individual employee, there are no obligations in peacetime but is solely a planning measure.
Checks against suspicion and criminal records will be conducted regarding all individuals whom the employer intends to employ or engage for patient-facing work based on the fact that they may work in psychiatric care, habilitation, care of children and youth, or compulsory care of substance abusers, areas that are covered by optional register extracts. This applies to all who will work closely with patients even if the tasks are not primarily intended to include work with the aforementioned patient groups.
This recruitment is conducted entirely through Region Uppsala's efforts. We therefore ask for no phone calls from recruitment companies and advertisement sellers.
