Our Operations
The Oncology Department 101 B is an inpatient department providing care around the clock, every day of the year. Here, patients with various types of tumor diseases are treated, and common diagnoses include breast cancer, head and neck tumors, sarcomas, and cancers of the gastrointestinal tract.
Patients come to the department when their investigation, treatment, or illness requires inpatient care. This may involve treatments such as chemotherapy/antibody therapy and various radiation therapies, or patients may have infections or pain and nutrition problems. We have both acute and elective admissions, and the length of stay for our patients varies from a few days to several weeks. We have close collaboration with other departments/clinics within our area of operations.
Our operations are in constant development, both in medical care and in our working methods in the department. We enjoy developing and constantly improving! We work long-term with health-promoting measures in our workplace and are proud to have been recognized for this and even received an award for the Health-Promoting Workplace of the Year 2021.
Your Mission
As a nurse in oncology, you are an important part of the highly specialized care for patients. Together with a nursing assistant, you are responsible for a care team where you can focus on nursing tasks. We are a technology-intensive department, and you will perform everything from standard nursing tasks to more specialized tasks such as managing central lines, infection treatments, chemotherapy, pain pumps, etc.
You will have close collaboration with the medical team and other professionals involved in the patient's care team. With us, you have good opportunities for development in your professional role, whether you are a new or experienced nurse.
In the department, we have a training nurse who supports you in your professional development. Additionally, we have a discharge coordinator whose task is to have overall responsibility for the discharge process and coordinate it, giving you more time with patients.
Your Qualifications
We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse. Experience in oncology or hematology is advantageous but not a requirement.
You are a confident person who maintains calm and focus regardless of the situation. You see opportunities and easily adapt to changing circumstances. You take initiative and plan, organize, and prioritize your work effectively. You enjoy collaborating closely with your colleagues and strive for a positive atmosphere in the workgroup. Furthermore, you always put the patient at the center and see the whole picture around them. You think strategically, long-term, and have a broad perspective.
We Offer
We offer a permanent full-time position with a start date according to agreement. Working hours are scheduled for days, evenings, and weekends. There is a possibility for rotation to nights after discussion with the manager.
Additionally, we offer:
- Individualized introduction based on previous experience.
- Frequent check-ins with your immediate manager and training nurse.
- If you are new to the role of nurse, you will receive clinical supervision from an experienced colleague.
