Care Assistants Wanted at the Nursing and Care Home Sjöjungfrun

The elderly care service in Umeå municipality aims to be a resource that liberates and strengthens people's ability to live an independent life through proximity and interaction.

The nursing and care home Sjöjungfrun is located in Tomtebo at the southern tip of Nydalasjön, about 6 km from Umeå city center. The facility has 48 apartments spread over three floors. Each floor has two departments with 8 apartments per department. We offer excellent opportunities for outdoor activities. In addition to the proximity to Nydalasjön, we have balconies, patios, and a shared courtyard that encourages outdoor living.

One of our greatest strengths is our dedicated and cohesive staff team. Together, we work to create a homely and safe environment for the residents. Our staff group consists of employees of various ages and with diverse backgrounds, experiences, and competencies – a combination that truly strengthens our collaboration.

Your Responsibilities

With a professional approach and a good attitude, you will assist our residents in their daily lives. The residents' right to participate in decisions is a priority, and you contribute to ensuring that services are delivered with high quality, according to care decisions and implementation plans. You will assist with care, personal hygiene, laundry, cleaning, meals, and other services.

Your tasks will also include documenting actions and health conditions as well as performing medical tasks based on delegation from the responsible nurse.

Working hours are scheduled for days, evenings, and weekends.

About You

We are looking for someone who is a trained care assistant with experience in the field of nursing and care.

We place great emphasis on personal suitability. You are responsible and want to contribute to a high-quality operation by being professional and accommodating towards residents, relatives, colleagues, and other professionals. You have an empathetic nature, are humble with a good willingness to collaborate, and are a good team player. You are constructive and proactive and can work independently.

In order to communicate with users, relatives, and colleagues, write and access care documentation, and receive delegated tasks for feeding/medication, you need to have good knowledge of the Swedish language in both spoken and written form.

Smoking and pets may be present in the workplace, so you should not be allergic. Heavy lifting is required, and aids should be used.
