Within the clinic for anesthesia, surgery, and intensive care, emergency and planned surgical care, anesthesia, postoperative care, intensive care for children and adults, and sterile technical operations are conducted at the regional and county level in close collaboration with other clinics in the county. The clinic is also responsible for air ambulance intensive care in the north and for conducting research, development, and education.

Operation 3 in Umeå is now looking for a service assistant. In our department, we work with highly specialized cancer surgery and vascular surgery. Upper gastrointestinal surgery such as pancreas, liver, and esophageal resections. Colo-rectal surgery, gynecology, urology, and endocrine surgery such as breast and thyroid operations. Advanced vascular surgery such as abdominal aorta and carotid surgery. Several surgeries from the mentioned specialties are performed using robot-assisted surgical techniques. We are also responsible for organ donation and multi-trauma.

Do you want a challenging job that really makes a difference? We are now looking for a service assistant for Operations Department 3 at Norrland University Hospital in Umeå. The position is a fixed-term employment for 6 months, with the possibility of extension.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a service assistant with us, you provide important service and enable efforts that affect many. You are a vital part of the operations department and will be someone who makes the daily work function optimally. You will be an important part of our ability to deliver good and safe care to the patient.

In the role of service assistant, you will perform care-related service tasks, such as cleaning operating rooms between surgeries and preparing operating rooms, cleaning the clinic's tools and equipment, replenishing daily consumables, emptying and transporting laundry and waste, and submitting specimens to the laboratory. Additionally, you will ensure that the physical work environment is inviting and that the healthcare staff has good practical conditions to perform their daily work.

The workplace is characterized by high competence, flexibility, good community, and a forward-looking attitude. It is an active job where heavy lifting occurs. You are an important part of the team in the department.

The work is mainly scheduled during daytime on weekdays, but there may be some evenings as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who enjoys interacting with people, is social, and has a service-oriented mindset. If you are flexible, enjoy working in a team as well as independently, and are reliable and meticulous, you possess the right qualities for the job. It is important that you have a good attitude towards staff, patients, and relatives in a hospital environment. We would like you to have an interest in working in a healthcare environment, particularly in surgical operations. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability and good knowledge of hygiene.

Experience in the service industry such as retail, hotels, restaurants, etc., is an advantage. It is especially positive if you have previously worked with service in the healthcare sector.
