Welcome to Skalstugan!

About 40 minutes from Åre's pulse, in a secluded location on the mountain near the border to Norway, lies the mountain lodge Skalstugan. We are now looking for someone who wants to engage with us, our guests, and the experience we offer. We are currently seeking reinforcement for cleaning and serving!

Skalstugan is a small and family-friendly facility with 50 beds characterized by good, close hospitality. The Skalstugan foundation also includes a large piece of land, several mountain cabins, our own ski trails, paths, boats, and fishing waters. A place for outdoor life and recreation in a unique combination that makes many guests (and employees!) return year after year.

The guests staying at the lodge have full board, and we serve breakfast and a three-course dinner every day. Guests prepare their own packed lunches to take with them on their daily excursions. We do most of the cooking from scratch and take pride in the unique opportunity to base our menu largely on meat and fish that comes directly from our own land.

We primarily work with two things:

All-rounder: This position is suitable for you who want a varied job where the tasks include cleaning and serving but also a lot of guest contact and good, close hospitality.

Kitchen: Here, those responsible for breakfast, starters, main courses, and desserts work. We take pride in being able to serve moose meat and fish directly from our own lands and waters. The kitchen also largely involves baking and processing our ingredients in various ways.

Education and experience are valued but are not a requirement if the willingness and commitment are present. Here, you will become part of a stable team that is good at helping each other to make the whole as good as possible. Regardless of what your task is, we prefer that you are solution-focused, meticulous, and efficient without compromising on quality. If you want a varied job and the opportunity for a rich outdoor life, we believe you will thrive especially well with us. Our staff group consists of 10-12 people. We work closely together, and several of our positions vary in different tasks.

As we prepare for winter, we are now looking for a colleague for our all-rounder team, and you will primarily work with cleaning, but there may also be some serving. The season runs from February 9 to April 28, and there are good opportunities for work even during the summer season.
