Hostess for Nyköping Parish

We are looking for a hostess for Nyköping Parish, approximately 75% or as agreed.

Nyköping is located along the coast where the sea meets the Sörmland nature. The parish includes the town of Nyköping and operates in six churches with associated activities.

As one of our five hostesses, you will be part of the service group alongside the church caretaker and cleaners. The position is primarily located in Oppeby Church, which is an EFS parish and a cooperating church with the Church of Sweden, where you will play a significant role in the important parish life.

About the Position

The hostess is responsible for purchasing, preparation, and serving meals in the parish's activities. During worship services, some tasks related to the caretaker's role will also be included.

The role is important in the parish. Together with colleagues in worship and church activities, you contribute to a good environment in the parish homes – creating a welcoming and inclusive gathering place is central to the assignment.

Introducing and mentoring volunteers is another task that belongs to the hostess's role.

The work schedule includes both weekend and evening shifts that follow the needs of the activities.

Who We Are Looking For

We are looking for someone with experience in food and service. We see it as a given that you take pride in providing service to people, are engaged, and are comfortable working both independently and in a team.

You find joy in being part of a parish and will have an important role in parish work, which is essential as the job involves many contacts with visitors and colleagues in other professional roles.

Previous experience working in a kitchen or similar is an advantage. We want you to be well-rooted in the church's tradition and want to work in a church context. A valid driver's license (B) is required, and we expect you to be a member of the Church of Sweden.
