Piteå City Library is looking for an engaged children's librarian who is passionate about developing services for our youngest visitors. With us, you will have the opportunity to combine creativity with pedagogy – through story hours, book recommendations, and exciting activities that make the library a vibrant place for children and families.

Job Responsibilities

As a librarian at Piteå City Library, you will work with reading promotion activities and literature, particularly aimed at children and young people. You will meet and guide visitors of all ages. You will work outwardly to create and develop contacts with schools, associations, and other partners. You contribute to making the library a natural meeting place in the community.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a degree in library and information science or another higher education qualification at least at the bachelor's level that the employer considers equivalent. We prefer that you have good knowledge of children's and youth literature. You should be outgoing, proactive, and independent, interested in making new contacts, and enjoy collaborating with others. We place great emphasis on personal competence.

A driver's license is a requirement.

Piteå City Library

Piteå Library is part of the Culture, Parks, and Recreation Administration and consists of the city library, five local libraries, and a book bus that provides service to the entire municipality. There are 25 people working in the library operations.
