As a producer, you play a key role in leading our productions from idea planning to premiere and until the last performance is played. You ensure that each project is executed with quality, creativity, and precision. You will work in the newly built Sara Kulturhus in Skellefteå, where we have our rehearsal spaces and our home stage.

Job Description

As a producer at Västerbottensteatern, you are responsible for planning, executing, and driving productions and projects within given resource frameworks. In the producer role, you are responsible for resource planning for the theater's productions and projects, including finances, venues, and personnel.

You have delegated budget responsibility for the production budget and are the spider in the web during planning, pre-production, execution, and tour periods. You are also responsible for evaluation and follow-up in the productions and projects where you are the responsible producer.

You work closely with the theater's artistic leader, production technical manager, and marketing department and regularly participate as an adjunct in the management group. Your immediate supervisor is the administrative manager. In assigned productions and projects, you are responsible for contact and collaboration with the artistic teams of the productions, or equivalent.

Your Background

We are looking for someone with extensive professional experience as a producer in theater and performing arts, and who has knowledge of and understanding of artistic processes.

You have experience in project or team-leading roles, are communicative, and express yourself well in both spoken and written Swedish and English. You have knowledge of the conditions and terms for performing arts production at a cultural institution and enjoy being responsible for the production's finances, budget, and follow-up.

We are looking for a producer who is unpretentious and attentive and who has the ability to create and develop good relationships with various professional categories and external partners. You can work independently and are used to driving productions forward.

You are proactive, solution-oriented, and contribute to an inclusive work climate. At the same time, you can work with parallel timelines and processes and can switch between strategic and operational focus.

About Västerbottensteatern

Västerbottensteatern is tasked with producing, presenting, and developing theater and other forms of performing arts in the region. Our starting point and goal are to provide the audience with bold performing arts that touch, enrich, and challenge.

The operations have a wide range and include own productions, co-productions, guest performances, festivals, and educational activities aimed at both adults and children and youth. Each year, over 30,000 people attend our performing arts performances, and an additional 15,000 participate in our program and educational activities.

The stages at the newly built Sara Kulturhus are Västerbottensteatern's home; we primarily tour in Västerbotten County but also in the northernmost counties. Our performances and events also reach audiences at other venues, in community centers, schools, and other locations. Every year, a summer theater is produced that is performed outdoors in Skellefteå.

Västerbottensteatern AB is owned by Region Västerbotten and Skellefteå Municipality. We have our production and rehearsal spaces, as well as offices in Sara Kulturhus in Skellefteå.
