Park Worker at the Technical Administration

Within the Technical Administration/Construction, we are responsible for developing, maintaining, and operating the municipality's infrastructure in the form of green spaces, traffic, streets, squares, nature, and flood protection, as well as water supply. Your Role with Us

As a park worker with us, you will work with all types of park work in Kristianstad municipality where we provide services to citizens and businesses in the municipality. You are an ambassador for the city and our operations in our public environments.

You will be part of a friendly team with varied tasks such as lawn mowing, trimming, hedge trimming, planting, weed control, tree felling/pruning, and maintenance. In addition to parks and summer flowers, we also maintain outdoor environments at schools and preschools. You will work as a park worker but will also interact with other individuals in various labor market policy measures.

Who Are We Looking For?

We are looking for someone with a horticultural education focused on green space maintenance or equivalent training that the employer considers comparable, as well as experience in professional work within park and garden maintenance. It is an advantage if you have experience driving with a trailer, larger riding lawn mowers, smaller tractors, or other equipment carriers. If you have lift training, work on the road training 1 and 2, and/or arborist training, this is also advantageous, as well as documented experience in plant knowledge and pruning.

The job requires computer skills and proficiency in the Office suite. You communicate fluently in Swedish; it is an advantage if you can also communicate in English. A B driver's license for manual transmission is required for the position, but preferably also a BE driver's license and a C driver's license. The work involves heavy lifting, which requires good physical condition.

You are a flexible, meticulous, and service-oriented person with good collaboration skills who can also work independently. You have the ability to follow instructions and adhere to set timelines and deliver results. You collaborate well with people in various contexts and functions and need to have social competence when meeting different individuals in your work.

When you are offered employment, a certificate from the police's criminal record must be presented before employment.

The Technical Committee is responsible through the Technical Administration for the development, construction, and management of the municipality's public spaces and buildings. The committee also has the task of arranging municipal water and sewage supply (VA) and is the road authority for the municipal roads.
