Electrician at the Naval Base

About the Department

The Boat Maintenance Department is growing to enhance the Navy's capability for maintenance and technical support. The department is part of the Marine Workshops and is being built as a flexible team where everyone is involved in the entire maintenance commitment.

Main Responsibilities

As a mechanic, you will perform preventive and corrective maintenance on the Navy's boats and equipment. The tasks are very varied and are carried out both in the workshop and on board vessels. You will work independently or in teams.

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

  • 2- or 3-year high school with a technical/electrical focus or equivalent knowledge acquired in another way that the employer assesses as equivalent
  • Several years of documented experience in operations, maintenance, or technology
  • Good computer skills
  • Good knowledge of Swedish and English in both spoken and written form
  • Manual B driver's license

As a person, you have a positive attitude, are driven, and have a strong focus on safety. For you, it is natural to carry out tasks across the entire spectrum, not just what you are specifically trained for, and to document your own completed work. Other

Employment type: Permanent. The Armed Forces applies a six-month probationary period for those who are not employed by the authority.
Employment rate: Full-time.

The overall task of the Naval Base is to support the naval units with logistics such as transportation, basing, surveillance, and medical care, both at home and abroad. The Naval Base has its headquarters in Karlskrona but operates where needed, for example in Berga/Muskö, south of Stockholm, and in Gothenburg. Other major tasks for the Naval Base include monitoring Sweden's 2700 km long coastline with territorial waters.
