The Adult Services department consists of six units and about 110 employees who work with social services directed at people over 18 years old. The Supervised Housing Stallgatan is one of these units and is an important part of the municipality's work for a safer and more inclusive Gävle.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Gävle municipality supervised housing Stallgatan consists of 35 apartments and is a high-tolerance residence for individuals with ongoing substance abuse issues and co-occurring mental health problems. It is an important part of the municipality's efforts to reduce homelessness and vulnerability in Gävle. We are now looking for someone who wants to take the lead in further developing the housing and making a difference for the residents.

As a unit manager, you will lead together with twelve dedicated employees towards the goal that people in Gävle should have a safe place to live and the right support in life.

The work as a unit manager is operational, focusing on creating safety, structure, and participation for both residents and employees. Since this is a developing operation, the assignment will evolve and grow over time, where you will be an important part of the development work together with employees and your colleagues in the management team.

In the role of unit manager, you are responsible for the operation, employees, and finances. Your task is to lead, develop, and streamline the unit's work in line with the municipality's goals and values. You will follow up, analyze, and take action to improve the operation. You will show courage to act when needed and create a culture characterized by openness, dialogue, and trust.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who has:

  • A university degree, for example in social work, behavioral science, or social sciences, or other education deemed equivalent.
  • Documented experience as a manager/leader with budget, personnel, and work environment responsibility.
  • Good and current experience within social services.

It is an advantage if you:

  • Have experience in management roles within housing services.
  • Have worked with individuals with substance abuse or co-occurring conditions.
