What does a Timber Measurer do?

When the forest has been harvested, the timber needs to be measured. Accurate measurement is important for the forest owner to receive the correct payment, and this is where you come in as a timber measurer. Your job is important for both sellers and buyers.

If necessary, we will train you when you start your employment as a timber measurer. Your training will take place in close contact with your manager, colleagues, and quality leaders.

Job Description

You will work as a summer substitute in Mörrum during the period of weeks 25-33. You will work in three shifts, which means 37 hours a week at full time. Your tasks will consist of measuring round wood and other tasks at the measuring station such as administration. Initially, you will be trained internally to perform your tasks. As a trained timber measurer, you will then be responsible for the daily operations at the measuring station and maintain ongoing contact with both drivers and customers. The work should be carried out according to our core values, that is, in a reliable, impartial, and engaged manner. Of course, we do it together!

Who are you?

We are looking for someone who works in a service-oriented manner, both towards customers and your colleagues. You are a good team player, like order and structure, and find effective ways to work in everyday life. Furthermore, you are meticulous and have an easy time collaborating with others. You are engaged, professional, and trustworthy, and comfortable working practically. You need to express yourself well in spoken and written Swedish and be comfortable working in digital systems. Finally, a B driver's license and access to your own car are prerequisites for the position.

Desirable/meritorious

It is desirable that you can work occasional days during the spring for training before the summer.

Forestry knowledge and experience in timber measurement are considered meritorious, as well as being able to communicate in English, but this is not a requirement.
