About the position

As a tram driver with us at Nockebybanan and Tvärbanan, you will meet many of Stockholm's most satisfied passengers. We take pride in our operations, and in our uniform, you will be one of our faces outwards. Driving a tram is not technically difficult, but you must have a very high safety mindset and be humble in traffic. Knowledge of the trams, routes, and safety regulations will be provided during training. We operate traffic almost around the clock, which means that working hours are variable. You will always start and end your workday in or near our tram depots in Alvik or Ulvsunda. Being a tram driver means you work alone in the driver’s cabin but also that you are part of a team sometimes with traffic management, workshops, and other employees. Here, there is a close relationship between colleagues and managers. The job also requires you to wear a uniform.

The training

The training to become a tram driver is paid and is partly conducted in the evenings and on weekends. It consists of varied theoretical and practical exercises combined with self-study. To pass the training, you must pass written and practical exams.

The person we are looking for

As a person, you are responsible, have a high safety mindset, and can remain calm even when unexpected situations arise in traffic. You enjoy collaborating with your colleagues and interacting with passengers. You will work every other weekend with us, which is compensated with weekdays off. To be accepted into the selection process, you must be at least 20 years old, have held a driver's license for at least two years without a probation period, and have full color vision. During the selection process, interviews, suitability tests, health examinations with drug tests will be conducted. It is very important that you master Swedish in both speech and writing to understand safety regulations and instructions.
