Are you looking for a part-time job - keep reading! Perhaps you are a student in economics or for some other reason interested in working extra? We are looking for someone who wants to work approximately 40% for at least 6 months.

We offer you the opportunity to work in a very exciting organization. This is a meaningful job where you can feel that you contribute to Karolinska Institutet's vision "We drive the development of knowledge about life and work for better health for all".

Your role

At the Department of Molecular Medicine and Surgery (MMK), we conduct preclinical and clinical research in a wide range of areas. We have about 600 researchers, doctoral students, teachers, and technical and administrative staff working with us. Within the department's administrative division, there are about ten people working in the areas of finance, HR, educational administration, archives, management support, communication, and IT.

The finance function currently consists of four employees who work together on ongoing accounting and controlling. The group also supports employees, managers, and administrative staff in ongoing financial work. We now need additional support for our finance function and are therefore looking for someone who can help us with some of the ongoing accounting tasks.

The work mainly consists of ongoing accounting tasks such as accounts receivable/invoicing, reallocations, contract management (contract handling for external research funds), and financial reports to funders. Other financial administrative tasks may also be included depending on skills and experience. We work in the business system Unit4 Business World (UBW).

You will closely collaborate with others in the finance function at the department, but the work will also involve some contacts with researchers and technical/administrative staff in our research groups.

Who are you?

As an applicant, you should have post-secondary education in finance or equivalent experience. Previous experience in ongoing financial accounting is an advantage. We work in an international environment, so good skills in both spoken and written Swedish and English are required.

We are looking for someone who has a service-oriented mindset and a good ability to organize and prioritize your work independently. As a person, you should be meticulous and structured. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

What do we offer?

A creative, international, and inspiring environment filled with competence and curiosity. Karolinska Institutet is one of the world's leading medical universities. Our vision is to drive the development of knowledge about life and work for better health for all. Here we conduct successful medical research and have the largest range of medical education in Sweden. As a university, Karolinska Institutet is a government authority, which means you will receive good benefits through our collective agreement. Employees at KI are also offered the opportunity for a flexible working method. This means that if the operation you work in allows it, you can work part of your working hours remotely. You can also exercise freely in our modern wellness facilities where trained staff are available.
