Assistive Technology Technician at Assistive Devices Västerbotten

Assistive Devices Västerbotten is a specialist function within the assistive technology and interpreting field. Our mission is to support customers in their efforts to meet users' needs for assistive devices and provide interpreting services to users. We operate throughout the county and are represented in Umeå, Skellefteå, and Lycksele. This position is part of the Service department. The operations are largely revenue-funded through agreements with municipalities and internal customers.

We are now looking for an assistive technology technician to join our team in Skellefteå.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As an Assistive Technology Technician with us, you provide essential service and enable interventions that impact many.

Through your work and expertise, our users receive the assistive devices and technical adaptations they need in their daily lives. In your daily work, you will be involved in the service and maintenance of various medical assistive devices, such as wheelchairs, patient lifts, and walking aids. You will work together with colleagues from other professional groups in a service team, where you sometimes work closely with assistive device users on behalf of prescribers to provide optimal service. In this role, you may encounter people in vulnerable situations.

You document your work in accordance with applicable legislation and our routines.

Your primary workplace will be Skellefteå, but county assignments during the day may occur. Depending on your skills, certain tasks may vary in scope and within different assistive device product areas. The operations are funded through revenue, where you play a crucial role as your efforts are billed to the customer through your documentation. Therefore, we want you to be business- and customer-oriented.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who has completed a secondary technical education with a focus on mechanics or electronics, or equivalent experience. Personal suitability will be of great importance. Experience in technical service and maintenance is an advantage. For this job, you need to express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing, and you should also have good knowledge of English. Proficiency in computer skills and knowledge of the Office suite is required.

You have a good ability to collaborate, both with your colleagues and with users and prescribers. You are flexible and attentive in your working style and have the ability to adapt your approach based on the situation you find yourself in and the individual you meet. Through your engagement and teamwork, you contribute to a positive work environment.

A valid driver's license (B) is required.
