Inlandsbanan AB is now seeking several train traffic controllers to monitor and direct train traffic along our railway. As a train traffic controller, you are responsible for maintaining safety and optimal traffic planning to ensure that trains arrive safely and on time.

About the job
A train traffic controller with us is tasked with maintaining safety as well as directing and monitoring the train movements and other traffic activities occurring along Inlandsbanan. No two workdays are alike as we are a small group of colleagues who together manage traffic control with sometimes rapid changes and varying work pace. Your work consists of locally or remotely monitoring the various operational sites, around the clock, every day of the year, according to a schedule with shift work. The position often involves working alone.

About the training
The training includes theory, where you study traffic safety regulations and governing directives, as well as practical training where you learn to apply the theoretical knowledge in practice. The training lasts for about ten months with a preliminary course start at the end of August. The theoretical part requires you to spend about six weeks at the Trafikverksskolan in Ängelholm. The remaining time is mainly spent at one of our stationing locations, together with your supervisor and future colleagues.

Qualifications
We are looking for someone with a high school diploma and a couple of years of work experience. Requirement for Swedish citizenship. The position also requires us to conduct a background check/extract from the criminal record.

You need to be fully healthy from diseases that may affect your judgment or attention. You should have good vision/hearing and full color vision as well as good communication skills in Swedish, both spoken and written. The job requires a B driver's license.

Desired qualities in applicants
You have a high work capacity, good judgment, and the ability to make independent decisions based on laws and requirements. You are a problem solver who can handle stressful situations, always with safety in focus. You are flexible enough to work under different conditions, where the pace can quickly shift between low and high workload, and at various duty stations.

About the selection process
The recruitment process includes several steps/activities, such as selection tests, interviews, and health examinations. Selection is ongoing based on outcomes.

Employment
During the training period, you will have a special fixed-term employment with a mutual notice period of one month. During the training, you will receive a monthly salary and conditions according to the applicable collective agreement. Inlandsbanan will cover travel/accommodation costs and allowances for travel from your stationing location to Ängelholm during the training period.

After successful completion and approval of the examination, the employment will transition to a permanent position with Inlandsbanan AB.

Conditions for paid training
The employment includes a requirement for reimbursement of training costs if you terminate your employment within 24 months from the start of your permanent employment.
