What does a technician do at Eltel?

We have different technician roles here at Eltel: Fiber Technician, Service Technician & Railway Technician. In large part, you will work to address both large and small faults in the communication system. You will work in many different types of environments, from indoor and outdoor settings, by the railway, by the road, and in connection with properties. You will receive work orders from the team's production planners or project designers. We provide a 24/7 service to our customers where it is important that we perform quickly, safely, and professionally. Your main tasks include identifying and solving customer problems, installing and configuring new equipment. You will work with a variety of technical equipment within the IP and LAN areas, such as routers and switches, as well as other types of customer installations and connections.

Examples of tasks:

• new installation and commissioning of hardware such as routers, switches, and access points
• troubleshooting and repair
• performing fiber installations
• welding and blowing fiber
• configuring and measuring the new equipment
• performing functional tests
• installation and construction of property networks

As a technician with us at Eltel, being on call may become relevant, which is every 4-5 weeks and is salary-enhancing. As a person, you are responsible and customer-focused, doing what is necessary to solve the task and driven by serving the customer in the best way while acting as Eltel's ambassador. You are independent and have an easy time communicating and collaborating with both colleagues and customers.

To succeed in a technician role at Eltel, it is important to:

• have a B driver's license for manual transmission
• master Swedish, both spoken and written, as well as have a good understanding of English
• have completed high school education (preferably in technology or electrical)

It is strongly meritorious if you are certified in robust fiber and railway work. It is further meritorious to have completed training in Work on Roads (level 1 and/or 2). ESA and Hot Work certifications are also meritorious for this position. Additionally, it is advantageous if you have electrical knowledge, as lighter electrical work may occur in our services.

Our positions are permanent full-time employment starting with a 6-month probationary period.
