Within Culture and Leisure, 17 permanent employees work, but we also have project and hourly employees. Our needs may vary, and we therefore keep the application open year-round. Right now, we have public swimming in Krokom and Änge. Working with others' leisure time is both fun, varied, and developing!

The Culture and Leisure department is part of the Growth area within the municipal management. All operations within the Growth area have a responsibility to contribute to sustainable growth in Krokom Municipality. This includes departments such as business, property, planning and traffic, waste management, water and sewage, and learning centers.

The municipal management supports three committees: the municipal board, the building and environmental committee, and the community building committee. The administration employs about 135 staff and is divided into support area, building and environment area, and community building and growth area.

An Evening as a Lifeguard in Krokom Municipality

As a lifeguard, you are an important part of providing our residents with meaningful leisure time. You create a safe and secure visit while enabling a fun experience at our swimming facilities. The most important aspect of the job is that you have a good attitude and can easily connect with all visitors.

You start your work shift by going through the swimming facility and preparing before the visitors arrive. When the visitors are present, you are responsible for order in and around the pool as well as in the changing rooms and sauna. After swimming time ends, you ensure that everything in the swimming facility is restored and close the facility. In case of any incidents, you should be able to provide first aid, CPR, and water rescue.

Currently, the municipality conducts evening swimming for the public in Krokom and Änge on Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:30 PM to 9:00 PM.

Your Competence

We are looking for someone who:

• enjoys working with people and has the ability to work independently. You like to provide service and keep your surroundings clean and tidy.
• has good collaboration skills and easily makes connections.
• likes to take initiative and feels responsible for developing the operations.

Requirements for the Position:

• You must be at least 18 years old to get a part-time position as a lifeguard.
• You must be proficient in the Swedish language, both spoken and written.
• We require a criminal record extract.
• You are a competent swimmer and can retrieve a rescue dummy from the deep end of the pool (this will be tested before employment).

Desirable Qualifications for the Position:

• Pool and lifeguard training.
• Certified lifeguard.
• Swim instructor or other education and/or experience that the employer finds equivalent or relevant.

From Us, You Will Receive:

• CPR training.
• Basics in first aid.
• Training in water rescue.

Additional Information

Intermittent, fixed-term employment. This means a fixed-term part-time position, with the possibility of extension.
