We are now looking for a unit manager for Open Meeting Places within the Culture and Leisure Administration.

About the position

We are looking for an engaged leader who will lead and implement the transformation journey that will take place within the operational area over the next two years. We are looking for someone who believes in the importance of human growth, free learning, and who wants to develop our Open Meeting Place in Ladugårdsängen in Örebro. In this role, you will be key to shaping a modern and sustainable operation that promotes learning, improves mental health, and strengthens social inclusion for children and young people today and in the future.

You are expected to be a driving force in the change work that the operation is facing. By being a secure leader, you will lead the way towards new working methods. A large part of the work will focus on the Kuggen youth center, but the position falls under the operational area of Open Meeting Places.

We are looking for a leader who is unpretentious, wants to work together with employees, and has a good ability to manage change processes. You will be an important person in creating security and development in a time of transition. Therefore, it is important for us that you as a leader have the ability to make tough decisions while creating a work environment where employees thrive and develop.

As a unit manager, you have personnel, economic, and operational responsibility where you independently lead your operation so that set goals and results are achieved within the framework of allocated resources. In your role as unit manager, collaboration with trade unions, other administrations within the municipality, and external actors such as schools, associations, businesses, and the police is a large part of your work, which we believe you will find both rewarding and developing.

You report to the operational manager for Open Meeting Places and are part of the management group for Open Meeting Places.

The leadership of Örebro Municipality is based on our leadership platform where the expectations of you as a manager are clarified based on three parts: secure manager, initiative-rich developer, and clear leader. As a manager in our operation, you will receive continuous professional development and have the opportunity to participate in the development of Open Meeting Places with the target group in focus.

Examples of tasks:

• personnel, economic, and operational responsibility for the unit
• collaborate with trade unions and other internal and external actors
• create conditions for employees to perform work with the desired quality for those the operation is intended for
• create a good work environment and contribute to being an attractive workplace
• ensure that applicable laws, policies, guidelines, and routines are followed
• drive, develop, and follow up the operation towards set goals
• develop the operation towards continuous quality improvement with citizens in focus

About the workplace

The Kuggen youth center is located in the middle of Navet school in Ladugårdsängen and is aimed at young people in grade 7 to year 1 of high school.

Qualifications

To thrive and succeed in the role of Unit Manager, we see that you are a secure person with good self-awareness who easily creates and maintains relationships and collaborates with others. You take into account the larger perspective while ensuring the best for the operation. You show interest in others, lead through collaboration, and invite dialogue to create participation, and you instill trust. Furthermore, you easily adapt to changing circumstances, are structured, think strategically and customer-oriented. You dare to make decisions and show judgment under time pressure. Additionally, you are used to working digitally. We place great importance on personal suitability.

Requirements:

• academic degree of at least 180 credits, for example in pedagogy. Alternatively, other education that the employer deems appropriate
• documented experience of personnel, economic, and operational responsibility

Meritorious:

• experience of political organization
• experience of working with systematic quality development
• experience of collaboration with civil society or business
• experience from work within the culture and leisure sector
