Do you want to experience Croatia? Would you like to work in our restaurant and learn how a hotel operates in all departments? Then look here! Boutique Hotel Marco Polo is seeking young, hardworking, and brave Swedish-speaking staff for one of the most popular hotels in Croatia for Scandinavians, right by the beach in a charming village on the Makarska Riviera. Do you want to help create fantastic holiday memories for our guests? Then we want to meet you!

You will have the opportunity to work in a very successful hotel and restaurant that has managed to combine a family atmosphere with a professional attitude. As one of the most well-known small hotels in southern Croatia and among VING's best hotels in the entire Ving world, Boutique Hotel Marco Polo offers a very interesting and developing role that is well-suited for you who are, for example, at the end of your education at a restaurant and hotel school or tourism college, or can train and work (cycling, swimming, running, sailing, diving, etc.) in the fantastic climate.

The hotel's Swedish-born, Swedish-speaking owner and hotel manager leads a close-knit team that always strives for outstanding standards and a warm atmosphere.

This is what we offer:

· You work and live in one of the most beautiful parts of Croatia's Riviera right by the sea.

· Full board (breakfast, lunch or dinner, accommodation in hotel room/or apartment nearby, and health insurance – all included). One day off per week. 8.5 hours of work per day. 1300€ gross/month – which amounts to approx. 1000€ net plus tips.

· Tips are paid out extra in addition to the salary, are individual, and depend on your skills and quality.

· Work side by side and learn from experienced staff.

· In addition to restaurant work, you may have the opportunity to work at the hotel reception.

· You primarily work with guests from Scandinavia but also from Germany, Ireland, and the USA. Our hotel guests are mainly couples of all ages looking for a quiet, romantic, sunny holiday with good food, great service, and opportunities for experiences.

· You will have the opportunity to learn about more of the hotel's departments, which can be a very valuable experience for you who are just starting your career.

· There may also be opportunities to work extra evenings in the restaurant and reception (overtime).

· Contract period from 1.5-15.10 or 15.6-15.10

We are looking for you who:

· Are cheerful, energetic, and helpful with a genuine smile.

· Experience in the restaurant industry is required, hotel breakfast bar or à la carte/buffet.

· Should have excellent knowledge of Swedish or Norwegian and English. If you feel comfortable with Croatian or have roots from Southern Europe, it's a plus.

· Believe in maintaining high service and enjoy working with people. Our motto “Always at your service” should permeate your actions towards customers as well as your colleagues.

· Are flexible, meticulous, clean, and stress-resistant. It is important that you can remain calm in all situations and have the ability to handle both the simplest and the most demanding guests.

· You enjoy working in a team and are not afraid to pitch in when your colleagues in the reception or other parts of the hotel need help.

· Are honest and appreciate straightforward leadership.

· We require that you are mature, independent, and do not need to have family nearby or work in the same capacity as friends.

You need to be very flexible and prepared to work in a different culture that you need to adapt to. This can be challenging but at the same time very fun for the right person.

We expect punctuality, order, and cleanliness from our staff. If you are more interested in a summer vacation with little work, this is not the right place for you. But if you want to develop and learn from the best, you cannot come to a better place.

We are looking for both young staff who are here for a great experience/internship but also want to live nicely by the sea and work in a good environment.

Salary according to agreement but will be around 1000€ net per month including accommodation and full board, one day off per week plus 7 days of free accommodation (vacation) plus a family member when the contract is finished. We also accept couples if both have experience in the restaurant and hotel industry but under stricter agreements and guaranteed contracts.

Questions about the position will be answered by Swedish-speaking hotel manager Stipe Milisic. Email your questions and CV to [email protected]

Feel free to read more about our hotel at www.hotel-marcopolo.com or Boutique Hotel Marco Polo on our Facebook to see more of what we do in the summers.
