"One of the most fun things about this job is that no day is the same". You will encounter all kinds of people, questions, and problems. Your main task is to answer incoming calls from people in distress. As an SOS operator, you respond to the emergency number 112 and are the first contact for those seeking help before other resources arrive.

The 112 calls cover everything from acute medical cases, traffic accidents, fires to calls where someone needs a reassuring voice. With interview support and adapted technology, you ensure that the right resources are sent to the right place at the right time. In ongoing calls, you collaborate with colleagues and external resources such as police, rescue services, and ambulances. The work is often conducted at a high pace, and those seeking help are always the focus. The work takes place at the SOS center where you sit in an open environment together with your colleagues.

About the position

As an SOS operator, you answer incoming calls to the emergency number 112. Your main task is to ensure that the right help is sent to the right place at the right time. The calls vary from acute medical cases, traffic accidents, and fires to situations where someone just needs to hear a calming voice.

You work closely with colleagues and external actors such as police, rescue services, and ambulances. The work is conducted at a high pace, around the clock, which means that working hours are distributed over days, evenings, nights, and weekends.

The position is based at our SOS center in Gothenburg, with fixed start dates in January and February 2026.

Are you our next SOS operator?

We are looking for you who:

  • Have at least 3 years of work experience
  • Are confident in yourself and have high stress tolerance, even over longer periods.
  • Have very good multitasking ability and enjoy working in a structured and methodical way.
  • Are attentive, empathetic, and professional in your interactions with others.
  • Have excellent knowledge of Swedish both spoken and written and have good knowledge of English, especially spoken.
  • Have good computer skills and the ability to work in complex systems.

It is important that you are in the right place in your life, as the training requires a lot from you mentally.

Meritorious experiences: Previous work in healthcare, emergency services, alarm centers, or similar roles.

Recruitment process

After you submit your application (CV, cover letter, and a video greeting), you will undergo psychological tests. These are mandatory to proceed in the process.

Recruitment meetingsMandatory physical presence at one of the dates below:

  • September 12 09:00-12:00
  • September 17 13:00-16:00
  • September 29 16:00-20:00

During the meeting, you will receive information about the workplace, conduct work samples, and of course have the opportunity to ask questions.

Conditions

  • The position is full-time and starts with a 6-month probationary period.
  • SOS Alarm conducts security checks and drug tests according to the Security Protection Act (2018:585) and the Act (1974:191) on security companies.
